Vlog #3 | Special guests in the studio & new quilt design

Week vlog number 3, whoop whoop! (Three vlogs already, that makes me officially a real vlogger right? haha..) This week I had special guests over in the Sugaridoo studio, there was a #letscrafttogether morning, I finished the froggy pillow and started a new quilt design.

Thanks for watching!

Yay! The second vlog. I think I’m starting to like this talking to myself in front of a camera thing. This week I did a lot of editing, shot a video tutorial on amigurumi’s, played with fabrics and had an awesome creative business meat up in Rotterdam.

Thanks for watchin!

Yayy! The very first week vlog is online!

I’ll give you a tour in the studio, show you the fabrics I bought on vacation and take you along during my workweek at Sugaridoo. This week there also was a very fun Let’s Craft Together morning and a workshop paper piecing in the studio.

I would love to hear what you think! Would you let me know in the comments?

Irene

A year has past, time for new things!

Summer is here! Time for a nice vacation, crocheting outside, drawing up new quilt designs and unlimited ice creams. Last week we stayed at a lovely castle in the Loire region in France. A wonderful setting to really relax.  An also to look back on the past year and think about what I want to do next.

It has been a year since I quit my job as an engineer and started my own business. And that year passed so quickly! Later this week I’ll post a blog post about what happened in the past year and how I like to be an entrepreneur. (Thing you will read in that post will include ‘Choosing happiness’ and ‘Make it Happen’.)

A wonderful poem by Jip. It talks about being able to do anything and be anything if you just believe in yourself and if you really want to.

Besides thinking about the past year I’ve been looking ahead also. What makes me happy. What do I want to do more. On what things do I want to spend less time. What do I want to accomplish in the next year with Sugaridoo. Well, those questions revealed quite a lot! :) It feels like I collected so many new ideas over the last months, started a lot of new projects, but just haven’t shared much with you. (In this year I’ve only written 4 blog posts in Dutch! And even less in English..) And all that even though I love to share things and write about what I create. It’s about time to change somethings around here. From now on you will find a new blogpost on Sugaridoo every Friday. And once in a while a extra post on Wednesday as well.

“Taking time off gives you room to evaluate: What makes me happy. What do I want to do more. On what things do I want to spend less time. What do I want to accomplish in the next year with Sugaridoo.”

To be a bit more structured in my work I started using the planning tool Trello. I’m using it in the way Kara from Boho Berry explained in this blog post. I just started using it, but already it makes me super happy. I’ve got it all planned out with fun things for the Sugaridoo site until half of September.

Next to blogging more often, there has been something else on my wishlist for a while now. I’m going to start vlogging! I think it would be awesome to take you with me through my days in the studio. On a craft fair last year I made my very first vlog. (It’s in Dutch) So many people reached out to me about that video that I decided  to start a week vlog. Next Monday (or Tuesday if my editing skills fall short) you can watch the first vlog on my Youtube channel or over here on the blog.

Mike is all excited for his new vlogging adventures

So many fun things are about to happen on the Sugaridoo site! But also in the Studio there is a lot going on. This week I’m giving my first quiltworkshop and there will be a Let’s Craft Together morning this Wednesday. If you would ever be near Rijswijk of The Hague feel free to drop by in the Studio!
